The guy talked about the sound problem when raining so I wondered if an insulation layer of old towels might be a way to alleviate the problem? This video is where I got the idea...

Re: Shelters or communities?

On YouTube, I came across a family in Sweden who live inside a house inside a greenhouse. And I thought how cool that might be to help protect against the weather if combined with a tiny house.

And I came across another video that had a greenhouse inside of a tiny house. And I thought how cool it would be to have a tiny house that opened up inside of a greenhouse that protected it from the weather.

Interesting Information:

Not sure how useful it would be, unless you did decide to use the greenhouse idea is some way.

I just started watching this video ... I think it has potential in certain situations, depending on what you have, or might possibly be getting.

Re: Shelters or communities?

An author I follow stated a few years ago that she, her sister, and their mother were going to sell their homes and build one home for all three families to move into. (Their mother was needing more attention, and this way they could give it to her.) Then I saw a video about two exs and their new partners moving in together. (The ex-husband needed help, and his ex-wife stepped up and gave it to him.)

And then I started seeing other videos on families/friends pooling together to buy one home. My playlist should you want to see the other videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhvTGa69OCoE5bZDkg_GBZ00GMl-qGMPA

So, this might be something to try and incorporate into the homeless community. Have three or four single mothers who are homeless ban together to rent/buy a place big enough their families. <shrugs> If the mothers had jobs that worked different hours, there would always be someone home to babysit the kids whose parent was working.

This could be something that the charity housing could work towards. Suggesting and helping find compatible people to join together to work towards renting/owning something together. It could be temporary. Once a mother could get on her feet and afford to do it alone, she could sell her part, or pass on the rent, to a new occupant that the others screened and approved of to join them. The mothers who got along really well, could move on to their own place. <shrugs>

The problem would be in finding those compatible, and that were trustworthy, and would be good to all of the children, and not just their own.

Make sure the CC is on if you want to know what is going on. The CC gives you the information you need. I like these pods a lot better than the smaller sized ones.

Re: Shelters or communities?

I just came across this video and thought I'd share it here. Perhaps tiny homes could be put in a circle/square/retangle with a couple of ways in and out, and a fence all around the back of the homes. The group of homes with children could set aside a playground within the communal area in the center. The children would be safely protected inside their circle of homes.

Perhaps platforms could be built over the tiny homes, and more tiny homes could be put on top of the platform. And a roof could be built over the homes which would allow people to sit outside their homes when it rains. The center could have communal bathrooms, kitchen, dining area. <shrugs>
